Backcountry Adventures: Arizona
Author: Peter Massey
Published: March 2001 by Swagman Publishing, Inc.
Description: Covering more than 2,671 miles throughout the state of Arizona, Backcountry Adventures: Arizona provides all the information needed for anyone with a sport utility vehicle to explore the backcountry with their whole family. It features photographs and step-by-step directions for one hundred fifty seven scenic trails, from easy to challenging. Every trail includes maps, ratings for degree of difficulty and scenic beauty, driving times, distances, and GPS coordinates. Write-ups include histories of each ghost town and mining camp plus photos to identify animals and wildflowers.

Easily the most comprehensive guide to Arizona trails written to date. Very good details and excellent photos as well. It does not cover the "hardcore" trails that many enthusiasts seem to be seeking out today.
