Who is running this combo and how do you use your Bronco? Daily Driver, 100% off road, or 50/50?

I'm running the same, with a NP 435. It's running 3000 RPM at 68 MPH so I don't do much expressway driving. Otherwise it's great. I'll be upgrading to 37" tires soon and that will help a bit on the road.

I have this combo with a C4. weekend driver & I drive it to all trails usually 70-200 Miles one way. Runs around 3100 rpm on freeway doing 65 mph.

I'm looking at something similar. What RPM are you running on the freeway? How's the mileage? Is yours EFI? Thanks

I am running a carb
and at 65 mph I am running around 2500 rpms
just getting a overdrive increased my millage 3-5 mpg

I never really did a before and after comparison, but I don't fill my tank as often, and can go further on a tank of gas

I run the same with the ZF tranny, really low granny gear and a healthy overdrive not to mention it's a heavy duty tranny. Love it! And it was relatively cheap to install to boot as compared to other overdrives.

302/4:56's/35's/nv3550

I am running this set up with the nv3550 like Donsbolt and I love it. I only have about 200 miles on the set up after a frame up restore but it is great. I got on the highway the other day for the first time and got it up to speed and it was running great in 4th and I still had 5th to go. I think I was pulling about 2300 rpm's at 65. My speedo works but I have not had a chance to run it next to another vehical to see how far the 35's set it off with the stock speedo gear. I am glad that I listen to some of the guys on the board that are running the nv3550 because it turned out better than I thought. 69sport

Depends on the condition of your engine. I run 2800 rpm all day long with my 302 and dont worry about it. A Stock engine will usually redline around 6000 rpm so it will take the RPM's but your mileage will suffer above 2500 rpm if you figure than in the 70's the speed limit was only about 55 mph and tire size was on about 28in with the gearing that was standard for the time 2500 rpm was the norm and most engines were built to run the best in that range.

I have a 351W/C4/4:56's and 33's and I really don't like to drive it very far on the freeway anymore. 3200 rpms at 60 or so and everyone is flying by me. I am thinking of lifting a going w/ 35s and someday an OD.
