NP435 trannies are probably your best bet. They are relatively cheap (mine was $100 in great shape), it bolts to your stock bellhousing, uses the stock clutch, linkages, and pedal, and if you find the right one, all that is needed is an adaptor (two ways to go here) to go between the tranny and the transfer case. Mine had the correct length and spline count so it was almost a bolt-in swap. You do have to cut a hole in your tranny tunnel but thats no big deal. The first gear is a granny (non-synchroed 6.69:1 ratio) and the rest of the gear ratios are about like your stock 3-speed.
