Sorry in advance, I'm sure this has been discussed in length before...BUT...quick question which I think I've already got right, unless I'm wrong:
On a budget and considering a full spool up front in my D44. I want to hear some negatives on the matter. I'm thinking it's an OK setup for normal daily driving as the txfr case will not spin the front driveshaft and with the hubs unlocked the axle assembly will just be sitting there doing nothing. When I need the front I'll be offroad and will need both axles locked together anyway. About the only drawback I can see is with offroad steering and it would tend to push around a turn making it tough to turn tight turns - in that case couldn't i unlock the hubs if I HAD to and make the turn?
Three major factors for me:
#1 - I'm on a budget
#2 - Probably mostly a daily driver
#3 - Don't want the unpredictability of Detroit type with a manual tranny
Any feedback would be awesome, especially negatives from those who have used a full spool (here or to knullmeyer@gmail.com). Thanks in advance!!!
