What kind of trans is this?

Could be a top loader.
Does it have external shift linkage on the side of the transmission or does the shifter go into the top cover?

I think the top loader's reverse is up not down. It has been a while.

Could be the reverse lever is upside down on the case.

:D :D :D Ford 4 speed you can put the R up next to the 1 by flipping the shift arm eather will work I run the wide ratio in mine good luck and have fun.:p :p :p Bill %) :cool: ;D
