Do you have a finished photo of your efi swap? Could you post a photo? I want to see how the final set up looks. How different ideas or make of engine changed the look of the broncos engine bay. Thanks

I can't really call it finished yet. I like to think that I've been helping it to evolve over the last few decades.

Before the mud... 96 explorer motor with explorer front dress. The rad is a Jegs Universal using an off the shelf hose for the upper and a cut down off the shelfer for the lower...mounted the rad with stock mounts but had to drill 1 new hole...lower mounts are stock, but made some simple adapters out of 1" or 1.5" angle. Shroud is Toms steel shroud with a few mods (trimmed a little for clearance, attached a lip up top so it hangs on the rim of the rad--to keep it tight (stock mounts keep it locked down) and a custom backing plate at the bottom to take up the gap of the rad (not as deep as a stock rad, so there was a 2-2.5" gap tot he bottom of the shroud) whish also keeps the shroud tight.

Coolant/WS fluid reservoir combo is from a late model ford truck. The H-boost is off a F250 using a older model Lincoln 4WDisc MC...mated nicely with few mods. Dual return PS reservoir is off a Astrovan...cannablized one for extra return and welded it up...made a custom bracket from 16 ga sheet/scrap.

Great Photos guys exactly what I was looking for. I like the short kn intake setup, very simple with the gt 40 looks like one complete setup.

I have a 351W stroked to a 393. The intake system is Edelbrock.

Nice installation.

How are you telling the PCM what to do with bigger injectors, etc? Tweecer? What's the thing on the firewall just aft of the upper intake with 3 blue hoses going to/from it?

Is that a stock hood I see there, Lars? how'd you manage that. Scoop? Body Lift?

Stock hood. I have a 1" body lift, it's barely enough. I had to cut the Explorer ignition coil bracket way down, do some creative re-routing of the upper radiator hose (not shown on that pic because I hadn't done it yet) and lower the power steering reservoir. Also a custom reservoir from PSC, because the Exploder reservoir was still too tall.

That latter mod is problematic. It places the feed line to the pump horizontally, with not enough fluid above the reservoir intake, so it's possible for the pump to suck air under high flow conditions. I need to do something about that. I'll probably make a rectangular aluminum reservoir myself, once I find a source for as nice a cap & fill bung as PSC uses.

Upper radiator hose routing to clear Explorer front dress with stock hood. Radiator is stock style Modine 3 row. Fan shroud is from Ron Davis. Hose is/was the ubiquitous '68 GTO upper hose, cut way short. Used a big Adel clamp to secure the hose to the shroud and keep it out of the fan & belt.

I ordered the Mass air flow meter (PMAS) calibrated for 30# injectors. The large (3/8) hose is the low pressure line from the Hydroboost to PS pump. The two smaller hoses are the ARB compressor to differential tie ins.
