Spindle Nut Removal - Direction?

Ok...here the stupid question for the day...when removing the spindle nut on a Dana 44, which direction does it go? Clockwise or counter?

Not bad thinking there airbur, but in this case, we got lucky and all the usual suspects on Broncos are normal thread. I remember the first time I tried to figure out what I was doing wrong when I ran into a righty-loosey lug nut!
Not fun, but you sure learn to question things like that after such an experience.
