At the front of my disc/drum proportioning valve there is a nut with a small pin in the center of it. It is leaking and I can't get it to stop. I tried backing it off, and re snugging it. That worked for a few miles, now it leaks again. I used the proper sized box wrench, and have started to round the nut.
This is a new valve with only a couple hundred miles of use. The valve is the pistol shaped brass one that several vendors sell. I will call the vendor early in the week, but wanted to drive it tomorrow. The pint of fluid that has passed through it already sure has done some work on the frame and bracket paint. Brake cleaner doesn't reverse that either.
I was wondering if the seal behind the nut might just be an o-ring that I can replace myself.
Thanks.
