Have a 4" round x 3/16" thick tube bumper. Going to do a double swing out tire/cooler rack. I am going to use triangulated 2" x 2" square tube for the gates. Can I use 3/16" wall or should I go 1/4"??

Build thread to follow.

3/16" will work fine, at least for the tire-carrier and rack components. I used 3/16 for the uprights and triangulation, but the base is a 2x4
