5.0 serpentine belt w/o smog & w/ saginaw

I believe it's the article from Bronco Driver in which they call for an 84.5" belt on a 5.0 without a smog pump. Problem is that the one I'm doing has a Saginaw pump and the 84.5" is too short. Any one got the correct length?

if you have an old belt cut it then wrap it and mark the length.

else buy a bunch and take back what you don't need , I did 3 trips last time I guessed.

I figured it out. I used a piece of electrical wire about the same diameter as one of the ribs. I came out with a minimum of 85" and a max of 87.5". I was able to get an 86" belt and it "JUST" fit by sliding it on the water pump last. An 86.6" belt might have been better but it's on and it's tight. Lots of room for the tensioner to work.
