Yes you can. But remember the splines need to be sealed also. There's supposed to be an o-ring, either behind the yoke or under the washer in the front of the yoke. Never had much luck getting the o-ring to seal. I usually install the yoke, then fill the void under the washer with RTV, install the washer and nut, then torque. That always seems to work for me.
