Not sure how much. As said, the pump and reservoir have the most effect on fluid capacity, but if you add a cooler and more lines, along with the slightly larger box, you could be on your own there. ;D
As for bleeding though, that's a universal PITA for most. You're supposed to take the weight off the tires. Some books say to "simply" disconnect the pitman arm to do this, but jacking the tires off the ground sounds easier in my book.
Then, with the engine running, steer back and forth from stop to stop (being sure not to hold it at the stops) until the air is out.
Around here, it seems to take about 14,000 cycles of the steering wheel.
It's only supposed to take a few, but I'd say most here have had to do it about 100 times, then drive it for a couple of hours before all the air got purged.
The Explorer pump reservoir has what looks to be a nice design to help separate the air from the oil and keep the pickup clean with filtered fluid. Nice design. Wish it was steel. But that's just being picky.
