Brake lights/Signal lights problem?

Most all lights work fine, or so I thought. When I turn either signal light on they work properly as well as the emergency flashers, but when I step on the brake pedal, the brake lights come on ,but the signal lights completely stop blinking. Hmmm. any suggestions?

Brake lights trump rear emergency flashers and turn signal trumps brake lights on the turn side only.

Grounds seem to be good as far as I can tell. I cleaned connections and checked bulbs too. Anything else? Have I mentioned I hate wiring:)

Thanks,
