RJM engine harness to Explorer sensors

I have an RJM Engine Harness. The sensor connectors are configured for Mustang sensors. I have an engine from a '99 Explorer. I would like to keep and use some of the Explorer sensors. As a minimum I want to keep the Explorer Idle Air Bypass (IAP) & the Throttle Position (TPS) Sensors. I plan to buy a used Harness from an Explorer, clip the connectors from it and solder them to the RJM Harness. I need a wire color code that will guide me as to what wire color on the RJM Harness connects to the correct wire color on the clipped Explorer Harness.

Good luck finding the color code. Ford started changing the wire colors quite a bit by then. It really isn't necessary though. With the 2 wire sensors polarity isn't important. The throttle position sensor can be easily figured out with an ohm meter.

I think you will have other sensor problems. I put a '96 explorer motor in a buggy, and had issues with the TPS, the IAP, and the cam position sensor. Your best bet to make the sensors fit the harness. If you till want to pursue this path, then make a diagram of both harnesses and then swap them (you might get lucky in that the actual contacts may swap between connector shells, removing the need for soldering).

Having swapped stuff around before...
IAC is compatable
TPS is compatable
MAF is NOT compatable (without reprogramming the computer)
Did not try ACT, ECT, O2, and a few more.

Don't have wiring codes. Too much variation over the years. TPS is simple, ground, power and signal. A meter will tell you more truth then any words will.
