As I am chasing down electrical issues I noticed that the vacume advance on my stock distributor moves freely back and forth by blowing and sucking on the hose connected to the carb. I am curious however as to what returns it. There is no spring in mine and it stays where ever I leave it.
Any ideas??

The spring is inside the vacuum advance is either broken or missing. Get a new one and make sure it can be adjusted with an allen wrench so it can be set up to spec.

THanks you guys. I knew somthin wasn't right. So does the distributor have to torn down to fix? It may be easier for me just to replace it with one that has all the parts there and working..

Thanks,
Mike
