Pioneer/Tuffy Review

Well, I just got my new Pioneer DEH-P7400MP MP3 deck and have since had a chance to use it and let me say it rocks! Mounting angle in the Tuffy was no problem, the same day I installed it, I went camping and the road to the campsite was very rutted and had some deep holes in it. It only skipped a handful of times in this environment (and I was moving at quite a clip, so my rig was bouncing all over). The rest of the trip was crustal clear play. I've yet to rip an MP3 disk, but that is next. Just wanted to share how well it played at that angle, I remeber someone was asking previously.

BTW-I bought a hidden powered antannae made by Screentronic and sold through Yearwood (www.yearwood.com), and it works really well. I actually have it mounted on the bottom side of my Tuffy box, very slick and easy to hook up.

I have installed my Panasonic deck and 6-disk changer in my tuffy and enjoy the setup. I have it wired to 4 Jensen Coaxial speakers in the bronco - competes very well with the "tennis shoes in the dyer" bass booming crowd! I wired the system thru the tuffy and along the tunnel back up and under the dash. I also used antenna extension from the fender mount along with a signal booster wired in. Love the fact I can lock up the stereo!

I've always had the best luck with pioneer stuff in my trucks. The wife has a kenwood that works pretty good. We also bought the cv door speakers and theysound great.
