How do you determine actual Rim width? I'm looking at some used 15X8 rims. If I measure from side to side the measurement is 9 inches????? Can anyone tell me if the 8 inches is the actual size or is it measured like a 2X4 (wood). thanks.

The "true" width is measured at the bead seats. Manufactures call out this width, although you need to add .450 of an inch for inboard and outboard flanges to come up with your 9" measured width of an 8" wheel. Same goes for the diameter.

No problem. When is the next wrenching session for the Raleigh guys? Might actually have mine on the road in a week or so. That is if it does not burn to the ground with the new SEFI on the 351W:cool:
