tailgate / liftgate gap problem is solved.

No more gap after adjusting the tailgate hinges 1/8" up, moving the hardtop back 1/4", tightening the hardtop bolts down more and re-installing the liftgate rubber the correct way instead of backwards.

These adjustments also helped the seal between the doors and the rubber on the windshield frame. Also, for some reason, my liftgate actually latches closed and locks in place now and the tailgate closes without having to hold the handle open though I still need to slam it (and the doors) pretty hard to get them to latch closed.
