Does anyone know if this rear shock mount is stock or is it something my PO added? All the stock ones I have ever seen were the single reinforced tube style mount. It is on my '66 frame and the PO has done a lot of other stuff to the suspension that is incorrect, just wonder if this might be one to add to the list.

Yes, that is stock. I have one on my 66. I believe that is called an early production mount. I added the normal style at the back to double shock mine.

2nd vote for stock. I had an early '66 that had a mount just like that. They used shocks with a threaded tip instead of an eye similar to the front shocks. Kind of made it a pain to swap in a big bearing housing with the housing shock mounts facing the opposite direction.

What I can't figure out is why there are two holes in the mount as if there is supposed to be something else attached to it. Just seems a little odd to me. But I guess that's why they changed it. I might do like tburke said and add another one so that I can twin shock it. Thanks for the info guys.
