Half Cab Repair

I have a halfcab that I would like to repair the Rain Gutter on. It has been fixed in the past sometime, as it has a piece of flat steel welded in where it bolts to the windshield. The rest of the top is in really decent condition, other than right along this front edge. I was thinking that I might have access to an old full top, and was wondering if it was the best way to repair the halfcab by cutting a section of the old hail damaged top, or is there another way that someone has done it in the past?

I believe they are the same thickness and stamping up front on both. I think a section off a top would be an great replacement part. Lots of bracing is needed to put every thing back right. My experience was, the curve sags once the corners are removed
