Well first of all, I don't think there is anything "virgin" in his shop....besides I think he said that he was going to do something with that rusty thing awhile back but now it is going to the crushers!

Well, you really can't say that now can you...... you did take "Nails" home along with another fine solid EB to rebuild.

They were free, so by default so was all the rust. ;D

Judi (and Bill) - you're going to put the rest of us to shame when you bring this rig out for the first time. Everything looks great!

Moving ahead by getting front driveline rebuilt and in.

Finally got my Glyptal paint in so we were able to get that step done and move forward.

Decided to work a little on the rig, maybe a fab up a track bar. Okay, so we got a little carried away with it...1/4" sidewall by 1 1/2" Stainless steel Hollobar might have been a little much. Looks cool!

Then we decided to play with some scrap, marine grade, aluminum.

Notice the one side is taller (wider) than the other....that is the backside.

Having the backside wider than the front allowed us to put a slight twist to the bottom and give it a completely unique look.

Best of all, its total weight is 31 pounds!

Looks pretty cool - keep the bumper off the rocks or you will give it another "unique" look.

Would you believe it if I told you..that bumper is easily four times the impact strength of the factory one, and equivalent to many aftermarket steel bumpers that are boxed construction using mostly 1/8" steel?

If steel was better than aluminum in properly designed structures..they would make airplanes outa steel..or Ford GT frames..or performance boat hulls. But they don't.;D

The gas tank in the back of my EB crawler is aluminum and is also the skid plate for the rear of the truck.

All that aside...Filly isn't gonna be taking it on the rocks and she sure isn't gonna let me either.;D We're going for light weight..that flattie is not exactly a brute in the HP deprtment.
