So what does the ignore list do?

I had asked Jon something similar recently - how to block an individual, but I think he said you need to block each thread individually....he said it hides their posts, not threads.

I will forward you his PM to me on the subject.

NO matter what it doesn't ignore him when someone quotes him...

My experience is it's just easier to just unblock him. Maybe you can be of help to him. ;D

Edit--Second thought, maybe you are trying to ignore me.

It still shows the stupid waste of time threads he starts.
It still informs me that he posted a reply in someone else's thread.
And yeah the whole comment shows when quoted.

So the member ignore list is about as useless as a thing can be.

Putting his threads in my ignore list is like playing whack-a-mole, more keep popping up every day.

I got it.
It is neither of you.
It does confirm that ignore member is the most useless 'feature' here.

I don't disagree that the ignore feature is fairly pointless. It's built-in to the vbulletin forum software. It is only intended to hide posts by that person, yet still gives you an annoying reminder that there's a post you're not seeing. It's working as designed, but it's a poor design. I've looked before for ways to improve it, but didn't find anything.
