*For more information on gauge restoration please see my web site: classygauges.com

If your gauges no longer work, if they bounce wildly, or you would like to customize your cluster, I would love to help you out whether you are attempting a restoration on your own and just need those hard to find parts or you would like a professional restoration.

The cost to refurbish a gauge cluster is $100.00 and includes the following:

1. Disassemble and Assess Functionality
2. Cleaning & Lubrication
3. Any Necessary Repairs
4. Calibration
5. Restoring paint
6. Set Odometer

Classy Gauges also offers unique customization options, available both as an add-on with a professional restoration and as products on the website for the DIY project:

Altmeter to Voltmeter conversion
White, Black & Custom Vinyl Decals
Chome, Polished, and Custom Color or Patterned Outer & Inner Bezels
Luminescent Gauge Inserts
LED Bulb Conversion
Speedometer cable gear change to account for larger size tires. This modification is recommended if you have oversized tires and your speedometer is not accurate.

In my experience, many of the problems people experience with their gauges can be fixed without new parts. I am not quick to say the gauge is broken and just replace it. I spend between two and three hours detailing each cluster.

If all of your gauges work, or as long as I can fix the ones that are broken, the restoration will only cost you $100.00. If I am unable to fix a broken part, I will contact you and ask if you would like a replacement part along with the additional cost.

I have only come across a small percentage of gauges that were beyond repair and most of those had physical damage. Because I don't know how much work your cluster needs without looking at it I can't give you a firm quote until I have it in my hands.

I bench test every gauge to ensure everything is functioning correctly. When your gauge restoration is complete, I will contact you with the total cost. The turn around time is between two and four weeks, varying seasonally.

Please pack your gauge cluster very well and I recommend that you get the shipping insurance and value the cluster at a minimum of $200.00. The insurance costs about $4.00 and shipping is usually between $10 and $15 (you pay both ways). Please send your gauge cluster to:

Kevin Capito
14314 South Shaggy Mountain Rd.
Herriman Utah 84096

Also, please include a detailed note explaining exactly what your gauges are doing or not doing along with your name, phone number, address, and email address. This helps expedite the restoration process and ensure quick communication.

I accept payment by check, money order, credit card, or PayPal.

If you have any questions please feel free to call or email me.

can you take care of sticking speedo heads? i've got a small pile of them that have various issues and would like to be able to put them back in service. i just need the heads repaired/serviced, nothing else.

I have a cluster I was planning to refurbish myself in a few months. Since I'm right here in Utah I would be interested. I can clean and repaint as necessary but actual repairs are another thing. Would you do the volt meter swap during a refurb if I supplied it?

I sent Kevin my gauge cluster for refurb and he has been sending me pictures of the progress. I must say, it's looking real good and Kevin's communication is spectacular. I can't wait to see the end product.

Kevin, My speedo needle bounces about a 30mph swing when I drive it. Gets louder and faster the faster I go. I Replaced the speedo cable because I thought that was the prob. I was wrong, its the speedo.
Can this be fixed? All the gauges work but the paint could use some help.

BTW, ar you the same guy that used to be in Mesa or Tempe?

The bounce can be caused by several things. The most common problem is dirty, dry gears. I clean all of the gears and grease everything really well. The second thing that can cause that is a broken spedo gear. And no I have lived in utah almost all my life.

Jason,

Your problem sounds like you slipped a balancing weight. The spedo needle has a little weight that is always trying to pull it back to zero. When this weight gets out of place you find yourself in warp speed. I would be happy to fix it for you!
