Opinions Needed on Rims - Dukes of Hazzard Wheels

I recently bought some Western Turbine wheels on CL (Dukes of Hazzard wheels), had them refinished and ceramic coated. I was going for a more vintage look than the Tri-spoke rims I had. I'm just not sold on how it has turned out. Thinking maybe i should just sell everything and go for some of these Mickey Thompson's (w/o beadlock) like the brown/orange Bronco.

Opinions appreciated.

Around here, we called them 'Cyclone' wheels. I love them, and think they look great on your bronco. Also like the tri spoke, but not as much. If you lived around here, I would take them off your hands...

I just changed out my turbines that look like yours even though they looked really cool. The reason was that they where Mag wheels that took the special mag lug nuts. I stripped my studs a few times changing the tires out. I say if they are Mugs don't use them! If not keep them

Thanks, those are 35" tires. They look smaller than that because I cut my fenders really high. I don't have a body lift, so it was a necessary evil to avoid rubbing.

Thanks for the input everybody. Looks like the turbines are staying for awhile.

And yes, I thought they were called Cyclones too, but the old school rim shop told me they were western turbines.... Whatever.

I just wish there was some way to brighten them up, ceramic coating has a lot of benefits, and I thought I'd like a more muted look, but they do suck shine from the blue paint.

I have always loved these wheels. I would polish up the rim edge and the fin tops. paint the in between areas with argent silver, charcoal grey or body color and it will POP much better. Look at Detroit Vintage Wheel for ideas. they restore old wheels and sell them as sets.

I neither love them or hate them, but I agree with Crush that they look better with the accent of color.

Love the old school BFGs... one of my favorite tires.

Just for the record those are not the Dukes of Harzard wheels, the DoH wheels where made by American Racing and where called Vectors, they had 10 spokes and the lug nuts recessed into the rim. The reason I bring it up is a lot of people try to sell non American Racing Vector for a premium (not saying you are doing that) just raising awareness that there are a lot of look a likes so if someone is interested in that style wheel they know what is what. The ones you have appear to be Western Cyclone II, below is a image of vectors for reference:

I think the turbines do the trick for the vintage look. The old ones are cool too but not so much with the M/T's, too much bling. You made the right choice.

those wheels would look real sweet in black...that's what i'd do to them. get that plastidip stuff and try it on one. if you don't like the look just peel it off. sweet EB too!

Glad your keeping the turbines. They look awesome. Great looking bronco too. I am not a fan of the original rims you had on your bronco. You made the right choice.
