I am replacing the water pump on my 72 and when I took the old one off it was missing a few bolts. How it did not leak, I have no idea! Any way, one of them seems to be fairly long, about 4 1/4", does that seem correct? When you look at the water pump from the front it is at the 8 o' clock position behind the alt. bracket. Any opinions would be appreciated? Thanks.

Yeah that bolt goes throught the alt bracket, the tall part of the water pump and again through the timing chain cover. Here is mine.
