A little over 14 years ago. The PO removed the letters for a repaint but, having big hammy hands or just a poor sense of origination (maybe due to the paint fumes) lost 1 barrel clip and what you now see is the result of a later purchase of 1 clip.

Other than that I will concur with the "How the "F" should we know"

Only a Bronco Buddha can answer this question and lucky for you , I am just such a Buddha

It is quite simple really... the nuts were reused and have 30 years of decay and rust on them but during the rebuild/paint job , somebody lost one of the rusty ones and replaced it with a newer better nut that was left over from another project .

Things are not what they appear to be: nor are they otherwise.

Easy, the nuts in question were a product of the 70's/early 80's production process. The rusty ones were produced on a Friday or Monday and put in the "nut bin" for shipping. The non-rusty one was produced on a Tuesday or Wednesday when the operator was not hung over or looking fwd to the weekend-then put in the same bin with the lesser quality nuts

Geez Ben, don't you have indoor plumbing ? It's obvious you have been peeing on the grill. One lucky nut didn't get any on it.

I am no bronco Guru. After close inspection, I would say "for every seven rusty nuts you get one good F in nut."

Isn't it obvious? Penetrating lubricant from the F'ing drizzled out afterwards and as gravity would have it, covered the lower nut.

Just one more thing to fix...Visit me on MySpace and Facebook and say hi!

I couldn't take it anymore and have decided to put a 4" suspension lift on my Baja Sportage . If I get all of my parts rounded up I will post a picture next week in Off Topic .

Sorry for the HiJack ... but I thought Tasker would see the humor in a Bronco Buddha driving a pimp ride like a lifted Sportage Plus he has seen me driving that poor little beastie
