me and dad have been wanting to do a bronco build for the past 15 years but never could find one that we really liked until a couple weeks ago he came across this bronco resting under a shed. Guy wanted a couple grand for it and looked solid. was even able to drive it on to the trailer. After stripped the carpet out there was considerable rust damage that we couldn't see. So we shipped gears and started order parts! We have done some projects in the past but never one with this much rust issues. I had to weld a nut to half the body bolts just so I would have something to hold on to to get them out.
Any how here are some pics, the paint that's on here is faded bad but where the top set on the body its still in great shape and it looks like a metallic green. Can someone tell me if that is the correct color for my bronco or was it repainted?

Same color as my '77, so I'd assume that the paint is original, although someone with their super-savvy VIN decoder ring should be able to confirm it one way or the other. Your floors look like kissing cousins to mine...left turns in the rain throw water right by the gap next to the floor mat and into my eye.

I'm clearly biased, but cool project. What are your plans for her?...and welcome to CB.com.

Thanks for the replies. All the new metal came in this evening. That's going to be a big project getting all the floor in. Really that was all the major rust on this baby. Once we get the floor welded in we will take the body off sand blast everything. Paint the frame, replace brake an fuel lines, check the axles out for wear, replace break pads etc etc. Gonna try to wake up the old 302 that's in it, would really like to see high 200's or low 3's with that motor. LineX in the interior. I don't wont a show car or mud buggy/crawler. Just nice old 4x4 me an dad can share some memories with :)

Just read your knuckle buster build. Me and you I think have similar goals for our Broncos. I think I will go back with that metallic jade, and instead of white top and fenders I will go gloss black with black and chrome mix rims. I will be watching your thread for more updates!
A member on here is build a bronco for my wifes uncle. Redvettemike I think is his screen name and its also a 77 but they are going resto mod/ show truck.

Showin it some love. Don't worry, you'll get it all back and then some. The father-son projects are really cool to me. I wish my son was interested enough to do one with me. He wanted to several years ago when he was younger. He really wants a '69 Stang though when he's old enough to drive (next year). He's been saving up for one, so I guess that's more his style. I'm sure the one he ends up getting will need some love as well.

Cool I like the color of your top. I am toying with the idea of what color to paint it. I was told by PO the paint is original on my 69 but in my research the top should be white mine looks tan?
