There are a number of reasons we went with the Uniball for the axle-end, and a rodend for the frame-side. The primary reasons being strength and protection, The uni-balls can take a bit more stress than 1-1/4" rodends can. Being down low, and these being marketed to the racing community, the beefier option for the axle-end was the right choice.

Additionally, it is nicer from a protection standpoint to have the adjustment point at the frame side, so that you dont wind up with exposed threads on the heim down in the rocks.

If you really prefer them the other way around we do have another option for you, called our URC or Ultimate Rock Crawler Trailing arms. Which are of a similar basic design as Shannon's, and you can check them out by click on the pic of them below.
