I picked up a 1977 bronco ranger a couple months back. It is a PS, PB, AT 302. The vin is U15GLZ00705 and the Marty report says it was built on July 12 1977. According to the thread about the last 1977, this is one of the latest 1977s identified. It sat on the lot in Kenashaw Nebraska for a year until the dealer decided he would buy it. It is a Jade poly truck (Y color code) with ranger stripes but he had his shop take the top white stripe off and replace it with smaller orange stripes. He also replaced the smaller pin striping on the bottom ranger stripes with a double orange pin stripe. Anyways, he drove it back and forth to his cabin and took it hunting until he sold it in the 80s where again it was used for hunting. For the last 10 years or so, it has been sitting in a field in Nebraska rotting away. So, I rescued it and now have it running and driving (for short distances). The body is pretty much shot at this point and not worth fixing in my opinion. My plan is to buy a new body in the coming years and do a complete restoration. I was maybe thinking of going with modified rear fenders like those seen on buildabronco.com but keeping the original ranger paint scheme. I drew up a quick sketch so y'all can get an idea of what I mean. Anyways, here is how it sits now

Wow, that is some rust!! I'm happy to see you rescue it instead of crushing it. Are you going to look for a good used tub, or maybe buy one of the new tubs? I'll be watching your progress as you go. Thanks for sharing.

Best patina ever! Drive it now because when you tear it apart it may take a long time before it's rollin again.

O yea, she's about as rusty as they come. I think the only useable panels left are the hood, doors, grill and top. The drivetrain, frame and axles are all in pretty good shape though. Its a pretty complete and mostly unmodified truck - minus the rust but that'll buff out. My plan is to get a brand new body when I have the time and money. For now, i'm just trying to make it as mechanically sound as possible
