Even though I have not updated my build thread since last August, We have made progress.
IT"S ALIVE!
started the engine today for the first time. Since the last update we have reworked the bronco harness and stripped out the old duraspark circuits, replaced the fuse block, rerouted the headlights out the left side and installed headlight relays. Reworked the MK VII harness and converted it to mass air with A9P ECM. installed Aero 23g EFI tank, Astro hydroboost, lines, trans cooler lines, fuel lines, exhaust. and all the the other little odds and ends needed to make it run. Today, finally, it runs. We purged the air out of the fuel lines, gave it shot, it stumbled a couple times and started. Ran rough for a couple minutes, then smoothed up and ran and idled great.
We have a handful or two of things to do before we can test drive it. Will post some pictures when I can pull it out of the barn under its own power.

Looks great, great to see you son has interest in working on it with you. I have done a couple (old pick ups) with mine. Look forward to watching the build.

Roll cage is fitted, tack welded and bolted down. bought a kit from Broncobob and fitted it myself. there are a couple deviations from his standard design which he was very willing to make. Took some time but eventually went in pretty nice, we are happy with the results.

It's been a busy summer for me, not much progress, but pulled the cage out today and finished the welding. sorry 2 of the pictures are flipped 90 degrees. they are right side up in my computer but can't figure out how to rotate them here.

I have the same problem with pics sometimes...if I rotate the pic around and save it (like a complete 360) and upload it again, it works. Basically the computer thinks you changed it but it looks exactly the same. Crazy. But hey lookin good. Did you have to modify anything on the tub before putting it back over that '91 engine? If he's 16 you might wanna put a governor on that bad boy!!

91 engine clears the tub with no modification. Kinda funny I can figure out how to put all this stuff together and make it work but can't flip my pictures right side up.

Awe. Dang. I like how it looked uncut. But it's a gorgeous Bronco either way. Love it!

I liked it uncut too. it was a tough decision. I expect to get a little flack for cutting it, But it was never going back to original anyway.

LONG OVERDUE UPDATE

We are off to paint!! Loaded up and headed to a good friends shop. We plan to spray it Saturday morning. If all goes according to plan, it will be orange in a couple days.
I didn't take too many pictures of the body and fender work, most of it was pretty much straight forward stuff. toughest parts were fixing a fairly jacked up hood and welding two wrecked grilles together to make one good one. Oh yeah can't forget about the surgery on the aftermarket fender that i did to get it to fit.
I have a bunch of stuff ready to go on it once it is back home. hopefully I will have prettier pictures to post next week.

Big day for us, except for the tailgate, it's painted. Thanks to good friend, Shane King, who first offered his paint booth, then after taking a day out of his busy schedule offered to spray it. I was prepared to do it, but he is a better and faster painter than me by quite a bit, so i took him up on it. will post more pics as it goes together.
