I'd like to get a trip together to wheel in Kingman in the next few weeks (before it's HOT) if anyone's interested.
Thinking about making it a 2 or 3 day trail/tour type of of run. Maybe run Sleeping Princess in the Blacks West of town early Friday afternoon or Saturday morning then run up the south end of the Hualapais camp out at Pine Flats, Saturday/Sunday run down to the Hualapai Mansion, and maybe run a trail East of Wickieup run over Goodwin Mesa to Burro Creek maybe camp there(awesome swimming hole)/ or back to highway 93 at Nothing? This could easily be 2 rather long days or an easy 3 day tour.
If you've never wheeled in Mohave County before it's really some of the better wheeling in AZ! Ask Sprinksbeme... This trip would go by some very interesting historical mines and even a couple of homesteads with complete buildings. Loads of wildlife, desert Mule Deer, Roosevelt Elk, Javelina, Gila Monsters, Loads of Rattlesnakes (several species). 100+ miles of dirt back roads and trails, there's even a gas station in there somewhere...
It would be a great trip if we could get at least 5-6 rigs together, even better if we had a support truck to haul some camping gear... Sleeping Princess would be the hardest trail, but the rest could easily be done with 33"s and a locker, I think it could all be done with 31"s (That's what I run) if your careful. Marty could correct me on this one.
Let me know if it sounds like a good trip. The middle of May would be pretty good, it will be warm but probably not in the 90's yet...
This is a good time of year there.... The desert will still be green.
