I was wondering what year did Ford go to a solid (one piece) rear engine seal?

Mine is a solid piece and I know a lot of 302's need a 2 piece seal.

Thanks,

Matt

Early 80's
Book lists the one piece rear main for '83 through '02
351W started 1 piece on 7/11/83.

When they changed the balance so late 81.

Another myth.
Engine balance changed before the 1-piece rear main was used. There were a couple of years where you could get the 50 oz-in with a 2-piece rear main. About '81 through '83. But all the 1-piece rear main 5.0's left the factory with the 50 oz-in balance.
