Your bronco is looking mean! Can't wait to see how you work out the new cross members front and rear on the frame.

Here are a couple of pics of the front cross member. There is one pic of the rear cross member on page 2. I have since painted the rear one.

Here are a couple of pictures showing my progress over the weekend. All the links and other misc stuff is currently out and ready for paint. I got my traction bar mostly done. I just need to weld the bracket to the new cross member which is also going to be the support for the back of my new skid plate.

Front Dana 60 is almost ready to paint. Just need to finish up a couple of welds tonight. got another pile of parts painted up and ready to install. It feels good to have shiny freshly painted parts ready to be installed!

Tonight I got the steering system mostly bled. The bleeders on all 4 brake calipers are seized up so I didn't get any of them bled today. The are soaking in pb blaster so hopefully with that and some heat they will open up tomorrow. I might just have to go buy 4 new calipers tomorrow. If the bleeders are seized the pistons might be too.

Almost there!

"I drove it to the end of the driveway. No power steering yet. No rear brakes and couldn't get it into high gear. Just need to bleed power steering some more."

Well, no time to upload new pics or video, but I did drive it tonight. Still have some sheet metal trimming and a little welding to do on new tcase you skid plate. Don't have gas tank skid, but might have go go vote without it or I will be getting to camp very late Wednesday!

Well after a weekend of testing at the MEB Roundup I can say the swap was a success! It crawled everything I pointed it at including some trails I had trouble on last year on 36's. The 39.5's rolled over everything!

I didn't have time to put on any bumpstops because they will all require custom mounts and I didn't have any trouble despite only having essentially a 1-1/2" lift. With the dropped suspension I'm basically at the same overall height as I was when running 36's.

I did have to switch from a dual sump oilpan to a rear sump which worked out pretty well.

You can see in one of these pictures that the driveshaft, exhaust and traction bar are all pretty tight, but they all got along fine. I dumped the exhaust in front of the rear axle under the body as a temporary quick thing, but am pretty sure I will leave it there to keep it out of the rocks.

Because of where I cut the body to (not high enough) I did terrible on the RTI ramp, but never rubbed sheetmetal on the trail. So, I'm wondering if I need to bother cutting the sheetmetal any higher which would require serious inner fender modifications.

I think if I had it to do over again I would have kept the coil buckets and leaf spring brackets at their original height to keep it at a 3-1/2" lift instead of lowering it to help give me better uptravel.
