My doors are in bad shape at the striker/ latch interface. How would you repair? I'm missing two of three of the countersink seats that align the door mechanism as well as all the metal fractures. Yikes.

it's not easy, but I cut out at least 1/2 to 1 inch around the damage make a patch and weld it back in... takes a little time and patence. And if you own a Bronco, for any lenght of time you have learned patence:)

Bronco Door latch repair

Maybe something this that they make for Mustangs?? https://www.ebay.com/i/382435754726?chn=ps

Thank you for the Amazon info. The mustang door latch repair sheets look and fit just like the Bronco doors. Yahoo!

yep that is the easy way to do it. My buddy's bronco had cracks all around the bolt holes, so we carefully welded them back up and then used those kind of plates to beef it up. Haven't heard from him any more about it after 5 years, so I think its holding up...

Easy is not what I would call it....

x2. It took a lot of patience, good welding technique (I profess to not have that), and more patience. Here's some pics of the end result, I think this is the best way to repair the door latch when you have fractures in the metal, loss of the countersunk metal to hold the screw, or warpage. Seems like welding skills are only acquired after you patch Bronco floors, A pillars, inner fender apron, core supports, etc. This had to be the best day I had with the welder, wish it all was like that.
