Where did speedometer cable originally route?

This isn't going to work, it's going to wear against the shifter brace. Anyone have pics of how it should go?

Your cable looks to have a slight kink in it down at the end where the clamp is. Is that just the angle of the pic, or could that kink be what's holding the cable up against the other components?
I've seen them in that exact spot many times. Also just thrown over that shift rail end-cap on the top. Maybe that's where the kink came from in the first place?

At least for now, I would simply cut a piece of 3/8" rubber tubing (fuel hose) about 2" or so, slice it down the middle and wrap it around the cable jacket. Hold it in place with zip ties or whatever, and that should get you by for awhile.

And by "awhile" I mean a really long time.
After all, "it's only temporary. Unless it works!";)

I think wild horses sells a longer cable you can use to re route a different way. Yall do have one dont ya Paul
