Saw this on facebook, I don't know if this has been posted or not net. Might be a better option/ cheaper then the 4r70w swap, since it's length is shorter, no need for drivelines change and crossmember can stay in the stock location. My dad did burn 1 of these up in his f150 though.

Here is what they wrote.

This adapter is for a 4wd 6R80 transmission to mate to a Bronco Dana 20. The kit consists of an adapter, rotation ring and input shaft. it will have 5 different rotation options for the transfer case. The 6R80 is used in 2009 to present Ford F-150 pickups. The transmission has a moderately low 1st gear and two overdrives, the highest of which is 0.69:1

Usshift quick 6 can control it http://www.usshift.com/usq6.shtml and they can lock out of 1st so it's more like a 5 speed if desired. I wonder what gear set would work.

Van claims it bolts to regular small blocks too, but haven't seen the details.

So who's going to be the first one to install it in a Bronco?? I'm very interested to see what the install is like and how the transmission performs in a Bronco.

>>> inside the 6R80 it looks well laid out for diagnosis.... once the pan is off you see all 7 solenoids that control the valve body in nice little row..... see VV

I've got the original 4.11 gears in my Bronco and I'm planning on running 35's when it's all said and done. That being said, the gearing looks like it will be almost perfect for just about any type of driving.

I'm not sure what super engine you have that is going to have enough torque to push the sail of a bronco on 35s through the wind at 73 MPH at only 2000 RPM.

Future plans are for a 408ci making about 450hp/450tq so that shouldn't have too much trouble. My 4x4 3/4 ton Yukon XL (weighs over 6000lbs and is on 33s) doesn't have any trouble maintaining that speed at ~2k rpms and it has a bone stock 6.0L that makes less than 400ft/lbs.

It would be nice if the rpms were a little higher but that's easy enough to fix with a swap over to 4.56s

Here is a 6R80 in a bronco. Just without a transfer case.
