What's the cost by the time you get an engine, stand alone tune, def delete, etc? I'm guessing 20K for a complete package?

I'm over here like, "I'm recovering from finishing my Explorer swap." And ya'll are like, "Okay, we're moving on to better things, now!"

I wonder what bell housing it's got?

Cummins 2.8 is already setup as a stand alone diesel swap.
With modern engines like this the transmission is a huge part of the overall package.
I really liked the Cummins 2.8 with an 8-speed ZF automatic I got to drive a few years back. I've heard that Cummins has one in front of a 6-speed manual that is pretty sweet as well.

They did make aluminum block Detroit Diesels. I believe they were the 3-53s. That would be a cool swap. 2 stroke diesel screaming away.:)

That Cummins 2.8 is a nice motor. I believe that's the one that's a direct swap to Jeeps.
Someone put one in a Scout, don't recall where I read the article. Seems perfect for a Bronco.

Sounds like that motor is what they are putting in ranger and new bronco.

I have been waiting in anticipation for the diesel F-150 and I hope it is a great setup. I also hope that engine trickles it's way into the Ford and Lincoln SUV's. 3 of the 4 rigs I own are diesel and I do like it that way. So I hope that I can get a FORD SUV in the future with a good diesel engine.

I want to hear the Cummins 2.8 in person as I also believe this would make a great swap into a bronco. $10k to buy one, then everything else. Won't be a cheap en devour. But if I ever have money to burn, making the bronco diesel would be a dream! Or even better, selling my DD (TDI) and building a comfortable street cruiser EB with a diesel!!
