Sunday's Work

* Removed Rear Seat

* Removed the Denno Diamond plate except on tailgate and one piece on the firewall. Surprisingly, not of it was really covering rust. Just something he likes, like brick in his bathroom.

* Removed the Denno Diamond plate cowl / firewall piece.

* Removed Tuffy Console

*Removed anything bolted to the floor except driver's seat, roll bar and seat belts - so I can take it to get registered.

* Mrs. Obscure finished detailing the intake with a wire wheel and a dremmel.

* Cut out aux tank wires and other bits.

* Cut out old lines to the charcoal cannister.

* Re-ran new fuel lines from the elect. pump to the carb.

* Removed the ButtStank "New Heater Core" heater (that wasn't even hooked up.

* Removed the Dash Pad.

I think that's it.

Ordered tires today: It's going to be a daily driver so

BFG All Terrain KO2 33x12.5x15

Had these on my wife's TJ back in the day and they were awesome. Should be on tomorrow.

Also replaced the brake light switch. Again.

After watching the eclipse here in the Path of Totality, and ordering tires I

*set an appointment to have the entire floor sandblasted

*Finally put bushings washers and bolts on 2 body mounts that were forgotten

*Replaced brake light switch and ran new wires and connectors

*Removed the gauge cluster

*Bagged, zip-tied, and duct taped any wires that could possibly get sand in them when blasted.

*Removed the dimmer switch

*Removed the Parking brake bracket thingy

*Removed the choke cable (electric choke on the carb)

*Removed all the insulation (original factory I believe) from the firewall and cowl

I finally found original black paint. VIN says it was originally black, but I've found Ginger, Brown and the maroon that's on it. The shiny black was behind the insulation that was behind the heater.

Hopefully tires will go on tomorrow. Then blasting on Thursday.

Just getting started!

First Off - Obscucifer (not sure that's going to stick) Got some new shoes! 33x12.5x15

Secondly - Discovered that the rear axle vent hole threads are all screwed up and I can't get the new vent tube in. So, what do you do? Tap the hole? But then shavings end up in your gears and fluid? GRRRRR

Had to reschedule sandblasting because my metal fab guy and line-x are booked up for 3 weeks.

Lastly, plugging $$$ spent so far into my excel budget document. So far, only small stuff and 4 big tires!

So, onto other tasks!

1. Well, I was going to take it to get registered, which is about 25 minutes away, but in a moment of wisdom I called the DMV to see if I could drive it over there with no tags and got an ABSOLUTELY NOT! If the police pull you over your car will get impounded and good luck getting it out. So I took my wife's car over, got a "trip permit" so I can drive it over tomorrow.
2. Took it to get an alignment done, but because of a previous "repair" to a ButtStank issue, the steering box is loose and I have to fix that.
3. A spring somehow slipped off one of the drum brakes and I had to redo one side of the brakes again
4. Now my headlights don't work, but my parking brakes do.

I'm rethinking my plan of attack now.

Lots to do tomorrow.

Today is get it officially titled and registered in Oregon day. Mount the fire extinguishers and a few other odds and ends.

OLD PLAN
(in order)
1. Sand Blast the interior floor to see what is there
2. Repair sheet metal (definitely pass. side floor pan)
3. Line-X interior floor
4. Bronco Bob Roll Cage
5. BCB Top

Since rainy season is about to start, and my metal guy and line-x both are weeks out, I've decided to
1. Serpentine Upgrade
2. Custom Dash (blank with specific design)
3. Centech Wiring
4. Sand Blast
5. Metal Work
6. Line-X
7. Bronco bob cage
8. BCB Top

Thoughts?
