Looking for a specific steering column picture

I am in the middle of converting my 1966 from column shift to floor shift, and from manual steering to power. Thus, my 3-speed column shift, manual steering column can and needs modification leading to adding a smooth collar behind the steering wheel and a telescopic lower shaft section to accommodate the PS gearbox. Doing this I noticed I have some latitude as to where I want to mount the steering column in the passenger compartment, meaning I can gain more interior room if I move the mounting bracket on the column back a little.

This brings me to my question - can someone post a picture of a non-tilt, stock column, shot from the driver's side, showing the distance between the wheel and the windshield (a measurement also would very nice!) so I can reference a safe distance to move the column mounting bracket?

Hope this makes sense and is do-able

Anything is doable! Not sure I'd have liked a different position on my wheel all those years, but every application (in other words, the driver) is different.
Are you going to change the wheel diameter also?

Sorry don't have the measurement or pics for you (and mine has been changed anyway) but back to the top to keep it fresh at least.

Good luck.

I too have no measurement at this time, (which means I'm no help, sorry trucks not here right now) but I can tell you that your research will yield a Nice upgrade. I can't remember but I think I went 1.5" in. you can't go too far or it will end up too low. I also moved the seat back (wagon) so any who, its a really nice move and I like it a lot.

AAAHHHH!!!! Thank you! I'll get you a cookie! These are perfect! There is more room than I thought. I was hoping to move the column about 2"- looks doable!

I am not certain I have a Bronco steering wheel though, it has 3 spokes, may want to compare the measurements to your wheel
