You still might have air in the system. I usually fill mine after working on it with the front end up on ramps, curb or even a parking bar. Leave it running with the cap off until you see hot coolant and then top it off. Then drop it down and fill the overflow bottle to the proper level.

I used a no spill funnel and ran till I had no bubbles for a few minutes and it was hot. But I’ll try to prop the front and do it again. Just got another cap, going to drive 15 min home and see, then I’ll try to prop the front and run again

Edit:
New cap a little pressure, propped the front up and currently watching air come out. Seems like cap was bad and air in the system.
