Great News!! My oil pressure gauge works...one gauge outta 5 ain’t bad right?

Even better news, I have oil pressure %)

So to test the fuel gauge, I pull the connection at the tank, ground it to the frame and it should read full, yes? If not the gauge is bad?

Got the hardtop put back on this weekend...to make the hardtop glass install easier (my back has really been giving me problems) my wife and I installed the glass, molding and trim I 're-finished' with the top on sawhorses. Then she and I and two of my teenagers put it back on. Working on liftgate now...thanks again to langester and Tedster100 for the trim

I've added more lift since the top was last installed, but I thought the bikini top channel was (roughly) as tall as the hardtop...well it ain't. %) If you look at the pic of the garage door bracket about 10 posts back, yeah I had to remove that little guy for it to fit...but it fit ;)

First time trading with delconick, got several items but the centerpiece is this refurbished vent window I love it, shipped my stuff like an hour after I ordered, highly recommend! Now I can close up the pneumonia-hole (as my pappy used to call it) on the passenger side ;D ...but maybe tomorrow too nice out today not to go for a ride!

installing weatherstrip...liftgate, tailgate and upper/lower door this weekend, hoping to have liftgate installed (with glass) by tomorrow, but with my luck the weatherstrip will need redone %)

also swapped my '85 Holley 4180 pre-fuel injection, emissions conscious and basically non-adjustable carb for a slightly used Edelbrock 1406, have yet to test. Thought I'd wait for all the rain to subside so if the carb backfires it won't happen in the garage ;D

Who’s weatherstrip did you go with, Jeff? Looking forward to the result of your how-easy-does-your-door-close test when completed....

i got the weatherstrip from delconick's website Mary. I was buying a vent window from them anyway and it said they had premium door seals so I took a chance, hopefully it works out...don't jinx me!! :-*

sorry, no offense, i've been reading lots of threads lately with lower door weatherstrip nightmares, so when you said "how well does your door close test" it made me more scared than before :eek: too close to Halloween I guess!!

None taken - only wish you the best and they turn out better than you hoped. Good luck, your build is really coming along.

Got the liftgate done, now time to go for a ride!

PS weatherstrip did not fully cooperate so lots of tape remains %)

Have not attempted lower door weatherstrip yet, but uppers are good!

What happened Jeff? Did the glue not adhere properly?

nope, not properly at all, going to reapply using the method on youtube (thin bead, spread on both surfaces) and i think the liftgate being in place will help as well -jeff

Finally pieces together what I thought were all the parts I needed for the parking brake, got the floor mount installed and everything ready and turns out with all the metal that was replaced there are no body brackets for the brake cables (see circled items in diagram)

If anyone has a pic or can tell me exactly where those go I’d appreciate it. Also is there a RETAINER 2A709 for each side or just driver side? Thanks

I don't have a pic handy, but I'm sure someone will come up with one soon. If not I'll go snap a couple later.

Your lever arm is bent up as well. It's normally straight off the pivot.

In all these years I have never seen one of those retainer springs wrapped around a leaf pack. I wonder if they gave up on them, or the springs had all just broken off by the time I started working on the undersides of these things?

Paul
