• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

1973 Ford Bronco
City: Decatur, Texas
Price: $15,500

Well Bronco brothers due to lifestyle changes and my wife retiring (I retired three years ago), I don’t have the time or incentive to continue working on my Bronco project so I have decided to sell it. I will detail the investment and work so far but really I have only accomplished a good start. In the “Garage” section you can see photos of when the Bronco was purchased (July 2016), my hauling the truck home, and one shot in my shop just before disassembly. The truck has always been in Texas and I am the second owner. I have a clear title on the truck and have disassembled the U15 down to the frame and have verified that the frame VIN matches the title.

The truck is completely disassembled. I built a rolling “frame dolly” that is installed on the frame and you will see it in some of the photos. The tub along with a 1 inch body lift are currently resting on the frame. The shop floor where the work has been done is completely level, the frame on the dolly is level, and the tub on the frame is level. This is “by the book” as learned from Classic Broncos and was accomplished before any repair work started. My goal for the restore was to build a safe daily driver (emphasis on safe) that I could drive to town and to my hunting leases plus pull a small trailer occasionally. I was not building a show truck. The repair work so far: 1) upper cowl assembly replaced, 2) right side vent hole plugged, 3) both inner rockers installed, 4) both door pillars installed, 5) all floor braces installed, 6) some of the floor pieces are mocked up with screws but floor work is not complete.

The professional repair work completed:
Steering box rebuilt and converted to close ratio steering by West Texas Offroad - $350
Front and rear differentials rebuilt by BC Broncos - $7163
Includes: Complete front disc brake kit, heavy duty ball joint, tie rod under
Complete master disc brake kit with calipers for 2.25 NBB
Ford 9” third member complete, 35 spline axles w/Detroit
Ring & Pinion 4.56 gears
D44 Master Install Kit, w/Detroit
Mile Marker Premium Hubs
B.C. Tie Rod Kit
Front SS Braided 3.5’ Drop Lines DOT,23.5’
Rear SS Braided 3.5’ Drop Lines DOT, 23’

New Parts waiting on pallet:
Wild Horses 2 ½ inch Suspension System 3 w/Bilstein - $1357
Right/Left Rocker Panels - $200
Left/right floor pans – part of kit that is mocked up with screws

The engine, automatic transmission, and Dana 20 have been pulled but left untouched. My plan was to have the motor rebuilt or replaced with a Blue Print engine and add an AX15 5 speed. The motor is not original 302 according to PO. The truck ran fairly well but seemed short on power. Exhaust was very fumey. Brakes were almost nonexistent. Transmission shifted and seemed ok. Four wheel drive did not work. There was no top and no rear seats. The front seats were not Bronco seats and very poor. The body has various dents but looks repairable. I drove it on the trailer to bring home then drove it around the farm for a couple days prior to starting disassembly. This is to be sold as a complete package – I am not interested in parting it out. I will post this with many photos but have several more if specific questions come up. PM, call/text 817 371 3600

Roy

I'm sure you won't have any problem selling as a complete set for the price you are asking, but I have can't resist throwing it out that I would be interested in individual parts. GLWS

Delivery Available

If you are considering the purchase of this project truck but are wondering about how to get it home from Texas, I have an offer for you to consider. I own an F350 ranch-bed dually and several trailers, both bumper hitch and gooseneck, and would be willing to load up everything and make a delivery. I would negotiate with the buyer on delivery costs and timing but would be prepared to absorb a part of the cost. Hope this helps in your decision!!
