A few pictures of the beginning of the metal replacement of the tub of a '72 sport. The owner is doing his chassis restoration and probably getting a buddy of his to do the paint. We are doing the metal replacement;installing "patch panels" in the front floor pans, kick panels, inner fenders, fender wells, radiator support, new grill, new front fenders, and .......YES.......cutting the rear fenders for flares!:cool:

Hey Val, I didn't post on your search thread for your '76.....probably because I was too "Spell Bound" to respond.. It was a miracle how it all worked out! So....I congratulate you here from East Alabama!!

'72 Sport Body Repair

Removed a little more of the damaged sheetmetal and had the complete front clip attached for a while, but somehow we didn't get pics. All the sheetmetal will be fitted (with the fenders and grill all attached), before anything is welded into position. This project has sheet metal from numerous sources and ages, so most of it has to be massaged to fit.

This Bronco was never in much mud because the body X members are really clean.....the only dirt is the dirt daubers castles. This Bronco also has had a little "Air" time in it's past as evidence by the bent X member at the floor pan and the impression of the body mount.

Converting Electrical Power to HOT Air!

Both of our facilities share the same air compressor, and our old compressor was taxed pretty heavily when the small glass bead cabinet ran for a while. So, much of today was spent installing the new air compressor ie. 1 1/2" galvanized piping, and electrical. The new compressor runs nice and quiet and pumps lots of air. The small cabinet blaster can run now and the compressor spends more time off than it does running. The big Vapor Blast cabinet, depending on which nozzle is in the head, would probably use all of the new compressor's air. The big cabinet is powered by a 85 hp diesel Ingersol-Rand pump that puts out 185 cfm. The new compressor is a 10hp with a V-4 pump on a 120 gallon tank that pumps 45 cfm.

DWalker is getting the other pump which is a 7.5 hp Quincy on a 80 gallon tank.:cry:

New Sheet Metal!

Tub is coming around. I found a screw up from the factory: The inside seat bracket on the passenger seat never had bolts welded in the crossmember. We made a bracket and fixed the screw up!
