well ..tried all day to get a hold of Lauren ...
interested in this particular one bc of its vin ! ....yet
in 77 they made 14,546. ..that's 1212 a month !
working mon-fri ... feb 77 had 20 workdays .. that's 60 broncos per day !

GLY0598x is a Feb 16, 1977

this one is U15GLY06667 diff. 685 vin numbers !
Feb 16th was the 12th working day in 77 ... 58x12=696 broncos made by the end of that day that month !
The average math would tell ya every 8th or 9th vehicle coming of the assembly line was a bronco ... they made average 500to 550 trucks a day. !?!? wow
even if GLY0598x was on of the first made that day ... based on that
GLY06667 was made on the thu.17th or fri. 18th that month ! only a martin would tell for sure !

Franko, You need to call Kevin Marti and ask if he can provide the VINs of all Broncos produced on 2/16/77. Or at least a range with the first and last. I bet he could do it........

oh crap ....& awesome ....
all my math and averages ... considering if one was maybe built early AM or last that day yet now this !!!

one made Feb 1st 1977 ... and a nuts high vin " GLY01296"

the Michigan plant made on Tue. Feb 1st 1977 over 1296 vehicles ?!!?!?

that's 162 trucks per hour !

No way !!!

1296 vin numbers x 21 working days !! = vin GLY27216 !!! that = to a march 1977 vin !!

GLY00000 TO GLY19999 is 19999 vin numbers .... at +/- 1300 vins a day and 21 working days ....I am calling BULLCHITTTTT !

Here is my 77 Marti. Don't know if it helps you with the numbers, but it's a May 19th build.
Which by the way means Saturday is my Bronco's Birthday! We will need some cake and ice cream!

The Marti that Okie posted shows “Y01296” as scheduled for 2/2 but built on 2/1, one day ahead of schedule. If they were running ahead of schedule then I assume some sequence “Y” numbers which were scheduled for a 2/1 build could have been built ahead of schedule in January. They would still have a “Y” code but a January build date.

I know of at least one site member who has posted that his “Y” vin Bronco shows a January build date on the door post sticker. He did not post the entire number.

That could help explain why the 2/1 sequence numbers are high.

Just got of the phone w. a lady from Martin ....Not pleasant and got no clue !

1, she kept saying when you order a martin report from them they call Ford and it is what it is specific to that ordered vin / vin in question !

2, per her kevin is never in and cant be talked to !

3, when I tired to explain to her the vin number and subsequently per issued reports from them the production date ...she told me to call ford !
when I ask her for the phone number she told me to look it up !

So now ... I need a direct phone number for the ford archive department !!

I am getting to the bottom of that ...even if I need to go to Michigan !
I have this gut feeling that the Martin production dates are BS !!! just my opinion I could be wrong !!!

I am going to start a new tread in the reg ,chat section !!

That is very curious Franko. I thought the story was Marti purchased all the info from Ford originally, so I assumed Ford would not be involved. Keep digging. Sounds fishy to me too.

Hey everyone I’m sorry. I’m a nurse, and a girl, and not a car person at all. I was just trying to help my grandfather who doesn’t do the internet. I had NO idea people loved these little things so much. The responses were overwhelming, my inbox filled up here on the first day and my phone was beeping constantly from Facebook all week while I was working. I tried to focus on local people who could see the bronco in person because we were a little unsure of a long distance shipping situation. Anyway, it sold this AM.

You sold it to a good family that will fix it up and enjoy it for years!
Good people and they spoke highly of you and your Grandfather!
