I am working with a 1983 gm 1 ton hydroboost. I bought it new years ago and never made it to the truck.....I am thinking about using it on my Bronco but some how miss placed the big nut that holds it to the bracket. Anyone know where to get this nut ? or maybe the size ?
Thanks
Jack

Easiest trick would be to hit the junk yard. Being GM it might be the same nut for all the hydro boost units. You may find one in the very common Astro Vans.

Most of the modern hydroboost units are supplied by Bosch and use the same nut, so AFAIK, they're all the same whether they came on a Ford, Dodge or GM product. If the spindle nut works, even better to have another source, otherwise you could call Hydratech, Vanco, or one of the other hydroboost kit suppliers and see if they have one laying around rather than going the junkyard route.

Especially since that would take another working hydroboost unit out of circulation more likely than not.

Tech info

This is the kind of info that needs to be put into the tech article for hydroboost. I’ve been sourcing parts, and though I like the looks of WH MOAB set up, I don’t like the price. BCB has a backing plate (31-00210 Hydro Boost Bracket for Early Ford Bronco $52.99) for early Broncos that is 53.00, not as thick as some of the other custom set ups, but uses the same firewall mounting holes. It is threaded to fit the GM HB units. So that begs the question with the spindle nut being the same, will this mounting plate work for the Ford Astro unit? Other units?
Does anyone know where to get just the mounting plate that WH has? What unit works on that?
Lastly, does anyone know if there is a big difference between a remanufactured and a new HB unit these days?

The unit that WH has isn't available separately - Hydratech only sells theirs as a complete kit.

Other units work fine with the BC Broncos plate. For example, my booster is from a Ford Super Duty. The threading on the units is universal.

What do you all recommend using for mounting a astrovan unit on my fiberglass tub?

I've found several on EBay, different set ups, some angled, some with reinforcement on the firewall. If I was in yr shoes, I'd go for the largest plate I could get, maybe in addition to the standard brake plate.
