It has been so long, I think $350 for the first one then $400 for the second. I hate seeing good parts get wasted.

Man your earlier pictures with that truckload of parts had me drooling. That tire rack looks amazing. Any specs you wish to share on the fabrication of that? I also do not like the body mounted carriers.

I have the frame here at the house, but the rest of the carrier is at the body shop. It will e shot Grabber Blue like the body so it blends in. When get it back I will gladly give out the specs.

Xmany! Just the other day I was day dreaming wondering if I could reinforce my rear bumper to support a bumper mounted carrier and keep my stock bumper look. You have answered by dream! From the positive replies to your carrier, it looks like you have a market. So if your up to building more, I'll take one!;D

This was the first time I seen your build. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.:cool:

That carrier is EXACTLY what I've been dreaming up in my head... I'm in LA and if your interested in building up another, pm me. My frame has already been powder coated but can easily be touched up;D

Hard to tell from the pics, but is that a winch, plow or tow bar on the front?

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you, I have been getting beat up at work.
When I get all of the parts back from the body shop, I will post more pictures with detail.
Keep checking for updates.

Thanks...

Ok time for some more updates, this work thing keeps getting in my way.

While the body and frame are at the body shop I wanted to get the engine built.
It is a .040 over 302 that has been balanced and it will be running a compression of 9.5 to 1. I have chosen a small 500cfm 4 barrel carb so the throttle response should be crisp.
On the heads I added small block Chevrolet screw in studs. 3 of the stock studs pulled out when I was disassembling the block.

attachment.php

With a Edelbrock intake manifold, carb and short tube headers the engine is coming together.

attachment.php

The bronco will also get power steering and AC.

attachment.php

With the engine done I started on the transfer case. It was cleaned up, inspected and will receive a Wild Horses twin stick shifter.
All of the internal parts looked good.
The transfer case was assembled with all new bearings and seals.
The Advanced Adapter NV 3550 plate was bolted onto the transfer case.

attachment.php

Then I received the phone call I could pick up the frame from the body shop and get started on it.
I took it apart so the frame, axles and other parts could go off to get powder coated.
In about a week I had a semi gloss black frame, it was done by Powder Craft in North Hollywood, Ca.

attachment.php

The roll cage was also powder coated. It was done gloss black.

attachment.php

The axles where powder coated and got rebuilt with new gears 3.73, bearings and seals.

attachment.php

Now with all of the parts painted it was time to start building.

The suspension is a 3 1/2" lift from Wild Horses 4X4.
On the front axle the king pins where replaced. When I took them apart, the rollers came out of one of the bearings. This Bronco was used up.
With the new king pins in I started on the disk brake conversion.

attachment.php

The rear axle I kept the drum brakes. Everything was replaced on them also.
One had a missing spring and the other one had broken springs.
The Bronco will be brand new when I get done with it.

attachment.php

The rear axle is done brakes are on, time to set it on the ground. We will be running 33X12.50X15 BFG All Terrains. Tony ended buying the tires and rims online at 4x4groupbuy.com.

attachment.php

A new set of Warn hubs where bolted on.

attachment.php

Well that is it for now. Please check back soon because I have more pictures to post.

Again, thanks for looking.

Tom

Love it! Just curious who paid for the replacement top?

I looked at your post again and realized I did not answer your question correctly.
The sand blaster picked up the tab. The blaster is also the place that will be doing the powder coating, so we traded paint for the cost of the replacement top.

I hear ya on the work thing! I have been meaning to call you so I can come over and check that build out but have barely had time to do anything myself. Lots of o/t but no time. My Bronco is in the garage waiting to have the serp conversion put on but I want to have someone who really knows what they are doing come over...havent even had time to find anyone! At least we are employed. By the way, the build is really looking good.

You are going to love those headers, they go in sooooo easy! Just wondering, why all the work and keeping the dana 30?

Tony (The guy I am building the Bronco for.) wanted a over the top street Bronco.
It will never see dirt, so I felt the Dana 30 would roll around just fine. Both the front and rear axles are (Ok here we go.) open.
Keeping focused on the Broncos true use I thought this would be better for him.

Time for a update. The Bronco frame is together so I rolled it outside for some pictures.

Next I wanted to put the engine and transmission in the frame. It sure is a ton easier without the body on it.

attachment.php

New Center Force clutch.

With everything in I installed the twin stick shifters from Wild Horses. These are made for the NV 3550, the fit is great.

When I get the exhaust system in I will post pictures.

Check back soon.

Thanks...

Tom
