Steering column is in. All wiring is in and works. Still doing a bit of making it hidden and clean looking.

Gotta pick a new stereo that isn’t that deep. Mine hits the heater. I wish I would have done one in the center console. No going back now.

285/70-17, but it's a giant giant pain. I had to narrow my rear axles 1" on each side. Which cause's a lot of other things to be fixed.

What "other things" were effected by narrowing your axles? Also, can I ask what make/model rims your wearing? My guess is you were going after Jonathan Ward's proportion and stance with the 285/70-17?

Yuma black Rocks 17x8 are the wheels on 10 ply 285/70-17. Icon now uses 18" to clear a bigger caliper. I personally don't like the look of 18s on a bronco.

I had to get spindles cut shorter, move spring perches, run my disk brake calipers on the front side of the axles, get custom emergency brake cables made and move shock mounts. I only needed 1/2-3/4 of the 1" I cut off each side of the axle. You basically don't have a lot of room for springs, shocks and brakes.

I like the look a lot though. I think that broncos with the rubber almost touching the fender looks goofy.

This may not look like much but wiring is done.

I had a stupid short in a underdash led. I spent 4 hours finding it. Stupid housing cut the wire when I tightened it down. I pulled all the dash wiring out. But I’m glad I did, it gave me a chance to re bundle the harness and make it look nicer.

Explorer aluminum pan and pickup are going in. Plus arp stainless bolts for the pan. Let’s hope it doesn’t leak this time. I’m tired of removing it.

Pan is in. Looks awesome.

Also got my steering shaft in. I assumed the steering box was in the middle. It’s not. So the pitman will need to be removed and clocked.

Awesome.
Is it just me, or the perspective of the picture that makes it look like the oil pan is one good pot hole away from getting banged by the axle chunk?

Goofy angled picture. Clears better since it's only one hump. The rear of the pan is almost identical shaped to stock.

Still no pan leaks!

Got the engine up to temp and got my engine timed. I went with 12 degrees. I will see how I like that. I hate my muffler, so that is on my short list to fix. Either the SS gibson with baffles or a longer magnaflow.

My re-manufactured explorer steering pump died, or my borgeson box died, I assume it's the explorer pump, it's under warranty so off it came. I did a simple alignment, and will drive it first thing to the shop to get it really done. Hopefully bleeding brakes this week and test drive it Sunday?! It seems like so many hours ago driving it seemed impossible.

I found a new stereo for my bronco. Half the depth, it's a discontinued model, I searched the web and eventually found one in Venezuela. It's an Pioneer MVH-X560BT, bluetooth, pandora, spotify and apple music. Simple and fast, with great app function. Installed in a few minutes. So far I love it. I can change button color and overall color. I like pretty plain stuff though.

Had to switch to a lee fitting for my PS pump, my explorer to AN fitting blocked something in the pump so it wasn't moving fluid. It now turns the 285's with ease! If I can finish the steering stuff tonight and bleed the brakes tomorrow, I should be able to actually drive it! Light at the end of the tunnel!

Doors and hardtop are slated for next week or so, then I am basically ready to take it fishing.

Finally drove her!. Gotta figure out the brakes, alignment and some 4r70w issues, but overall very happy. It’s a blast to drive.

Love your thread!! Your labor of love keeps me going on my own build.

Quick question what did you do under the tub I can't remember, I am getting ready and I am thinking Lizard skin, then coat it with exterior paint color?
