Just a couple pics from Uwharrie National Forrest this past weekend. Unfortunately not to many pics as I end up as trail leader almost always. I was curious how my back would take the bouncing around after being in an ugly wreck last summer. I did just fine.

Trekgirl from this board came down for the day but she had to ride in a jeep. Hopefully this was the inspiration that will get her Bronco on the trail.

it was an education for sure along with some "pucker worthy" moments  A lot different than the 4 wheeling I did many yrs ago. Certainly is a lot to think about and having your vehicle trail worthy. If its gonna fail here's where it will happen. I had an old timer (with a willis with a six) tell me about 40 yrs ago, "these 4wds will climb just about anything you have the stones to ride up, if its tuned right". Watching everyone climb some of these lines was impressive and the spotters too.

I always enjoyed Uwharrie when I lived on the east coast. It's a nice set up with the camping in the middle of all the trails. If it rains though the trail are almost impassable. It has the slickest mud I have seen anywhere! Good that it worked out with your back.

....and with the campground nazi that was always coming around checking for alcohol. I think that's the only place in the whole world where I drank my Corona wrapped in a brown paper bag...;D

There is about 3 places at UNF I will actually put the truck into 4wd---when it' dry.

Arrowhead has always been a no booze place. So long as you were not being a dumbass and kept it covered no one really cared. Unfortunately there's always a retard around that ruins it for everyone else, Janet, the former campground host has left and I'm not sure how the new guy handles things. I did see a local sheriffs deputy patrolling the campground a few times.

Matlock--- I'm not sure who I got the sliders from. IIRC it was west coast broncos??? It was 8 or 10 years ago they came out with them and peddled them on the forum. They were pre-formed and all you had to do was cut them to length. 3/16 plate steel--very durable and you can jack the truck up at the rocker without damage.

Snipes--Yea it was wet and sloppy on some of the trails. Since that area of dickey bell doesn't have alot of tree cover it was pretty dry by the time we got there late saturday afternoon. But the wet makes it more fun. We want to hook up with you guys again for work days. Now that I can move around and do stuff somewhat again.

Sprdy- I've been old for so long most everything sucks. LOL

Glad to see you are out and about! Nice rig there. What became of the 77?

It's at the shop in Washington NC. Haggerty sent a check and I've been budget collecting parts while healing up. I'm about healed up to the point I can start working on stuff now.

We' re wanting to hook up with you guys again on work days now that I can somewhat do things again.
