Hello,
My name is Tom. I am in Central California. I recently bought a farm fresh 1969 Bronco wagon. I am getting a motor rebuilt for her and have a good local shop that can handle suspension, brakes and steering. Can anyone recommend a good shop that could handle a restoration? Not looking for show quality but would like to make a nice daily driver.
Thanks,
Tom

Hey Tom. Welcome from just up North here too.
If you were trying to post pics that last time, you can do it by uploading them to another site then linking to your thread. Or you can become a contributor for 13 bucks a year. Or you can e-mail them to one of us with the yellow "contributor" beneath their username and we'd be happy to post them up for you.

If you're going to be here often and hanging out with the other Bronco-holics, the 13 bucks is money well spent.
Easy for me to say though! Took me a few years to finally cough it up when I got tired of not being able to share some of the pics I thought were cool or would be helpful.

What part of Central are you in? Valley? Coast? Farther inland?
Might make a difference on who we recommend.

Good luck.

Oh, and even though it's awhile yet, April may come sooner than we think. Plan to take a road-trip if you have the time on Saturday the 7th of April, pop on up to Lodi and join us for our Annual Bronco Roundup at Wild Horses.
Lots of fun and lots of good ideas to see on other Broncos.

Looks like a nice starting point. It's an early 69 with vacuum wipers and windshield folds down latch mechanism. Ford changed to electric wipers mid-year 1969. All the body lines look very straight. Nice find. The front drivers side reflector is mounted upside-down?!

Me thinks the front reflectors need to swap sides maybe?

Yes, reflectors mounted upside down. Originally candy apple red but somebody put a sloppy white paint job on it.

Dietz Off Road in Tracy would be a good start. Up in the hills above town, he's got a nice shop and though started as a Jeep specialist, has worked on a lot of Broncos.

Used to be Kyle's out on Yosemite right there in town, but after all these years I'm not sure if they're even still around.
Is the 4-wheel Parts even still open there? I seem to remember them not staying open long after the grand opening in about 2007 or so, but don't know for sure.
Neither of those would be a first choice for a Bronco specific job, but both know their way around shocks and wheels. And Chevy trucks!
Used to be a Dave at Extreme Off Road in Clovis, but haven't spoken to him in several years through the lean times (truck accessory-wise) and that's a bit farther away than would be fun leaving your truck I would think.

Did you specify whether you were just looking for a mechanic for basic work, or are you looking to get some semi-restoration work started?
