There are several threads on this cage, in short half like and the others think the design is unsafe. The dangerous rolls are on the street and generally not the trails.

^^^^^I'm not trusting the windshield frame to keep me safe in a rollover. Even more so with my kids riding in the bronco.

No way it's for safety. It's just to keep the windshield from rattling and look cool. That is my .02:)

>>> I went with just the back section cage like many do for more room up front... regret not doing more.... if a roll over does happen with that cage one better duck...'cause the windshield frame is coming down along with the big steel bars attached to it.... following pics show what you get with nothing.....

Buyer beware!!!

Any one who has rolled their truck ( I have 2X ) know very well that your A-pillar will save your life.

This design is simply to support windshield from vibrating...nothing more! Do not expect it to act as a safety element! It will actually become a hazard in an actual roll over...as others have said...

Here's a shot of my new one, I just built.... When you have experienced a hard roll over with others in the truck.... you'll never settle for anything less than strong and safe...

Aloha

More pics of roll bar

1.75 x .120 wall DOM tubing only...cross bars running from the B-pillar to the C-pillar, just under the bed rail (I did not want it to be visible from the outside)...

4 point framed cage support on the bed floor (visible on first pic above) to support rear seat and add strength to cage rigidity and eliminate cage punching through the floor by tying it all together at the base plates... I'd rather spend $$$ and time on safety than a funeral...

Be safe!

Aloha

If you're concerned about hitting your knees or feet on your A pillar, check out the BC Broncos cage. It's got a removable A pillar. Plus, they roll tested it a bunch of times. A video of the test can be found somewhere on here.

I went with a Bailie Bilt cage, and I couldn't be happier or more confident in my purchase.

I know there are stronger cages out there. But, the windshield frame wont go down any further than the line drawn between the grill and the center hoop of the cage. And I'd bet that it wouldn't go that far. Nice looking cage though.

I can confirm that is what will happen on the street too. Back in the day, I pasted a wreck on a 4 lane surface road in Knoxville, and the EB roof was crushed down to the top of the body. Not pretty.

Personally, I wouldn't put my life in the hands of a line I drew on MS Paint. But hey, it's your life. :-X:cool:

Only if the ground is flat. What about a rock, a log or another vehicle poking up?
